A few more glimpses of life on a Marine Corps Base.  I am missing my fancy Equinox gym, but there’s something kind of special about the bare bones functionality of a Marine gym.  The “decorations” at the gym on our base consists entirely of these two framed body builders, oddly hung as close to the ceiling as possible.  Also, these signs are on all the pipes, forbidding pull ups.  Because Marines will do pull-ups on ANYTHING and these signs are absolutely necessary.  

In our days at 29 Palms, I got used to stopping for formations and convoys of tanks, but now we’re attached to wing unit.  Meaning now I get stopped on my way to the library by Ospreys landing in the softball field.  

I still miss playing “civilian” and the perks of our old life.  But Marines are pretty great, too.
