We celebrated Independence Day on Ikei Island with our church family. It was soooo hot, so we couldn’t stay as long as we would have liked. Max played in the sand, got stalked by his daddy, and we all had a great time celebrating baptisms and enjoying friendships.

We finally made it out to a beach that has been on my list for a while on Monday. It was full of sea glass, driftwood, and tiny hermit crabs. It was just perfect: empty and slightly overcast. Max enjoyed collecting wood and sticks and attempting to build some structure.

One of Ben’s Marine’s had a wedding ceremony on the beach last month. We came and watched just out of hearing distance, out of respect for the bride. 🙂
Max had swim lessons the past two weeks. He did so well! He was nervous, and took it all so seriously (even the silly songs to start off the lessons, last picture), but he had so much fun. He is about as coordinated as his mama, so we’ll do another round in a few months.Continue reading
