Playing in the rain! We got caught in the rain on a run and decided to wait it out under the covered pavilion at the park. Max thought he might as well just go play in it. Since it didn’t bother him, we finished our soggy run and had a blast! ☔️💦
Spring is here and we are loving spending as much time as possible OUTSIDE! 🌳🍃💐🌾☀️
We love hikes! Sometimes when I look at him, my heart feels like the Grinch’s at the end when his heart grows too fast and breaks the measuring device. My heart and my words are too small to hold all the love I have for this little guy and his daddy. ❤️
Look who’s got jokes!

My handsome fella.

The piggy back ride was over.

On a walk around Theodore Roosevelt Island on my birthday.
Look at my heart, just walking around outside my body. Love these two. 😍

All those long walks wear a guy out.
Our little guy is 18 months old! It feels like it’s been much longer than a year and a half but also just yesterday that we were dreaming of what he would be like. Some of his current favorites:
Walks (see the pictures from the last week and a half, above). We go on at least one, usually two, walks a day so Max can inspect all the manhole covers in our street.
Snuggles and kisses and tickles.
Books. All the books.
A set of plastic bowls. There are four, and he takes them everywhere with him and stacks them. If he misbehaves, I put them on top of the refrigerator, which evokes intense suffering and quick repentance.
The gym. He has the sweet lady who runs the kids’ center wrapped around his little finger and thoroughly enjoys his time playing there, especially in the play kitchen.
His bed. It usually takes him 20-30 minutes from the time he wakes up around 7 or 7:30 until he starts yelling for me to come get him out of his crib. He takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon and is usually in bed asleep by 7:30. I know this won’t last forever so I am enjoying it while it lasts.
He still mostly just babbles, with a few words thrown in. He will repeat back monosyllabic words and say them on the right page on books he knows really well.
He still stacks often, can complete basic puzzles (even brand new ones on the first try!), and eats quite a lot. He is such a joy and I am so thankful to be his mommy.
