Little Moments of Light

Some days are just rough. Teething + rain + busy work day = And then he thinks my glasses are funny and Ben comes home and the sun comes out and I’m reminded of how many reasons I have to smile.
Fun with the camera before bed.

What super heroes do on their days off.

Typical view on my runs. A few notes:
1. Yes, Steph, he is wearing sun block!
2. No, Max does not always wear pants when it’s pushing 90 degrees.
3. Those little feet just twirl the entire time. 🙂
4. Those thighs!
“Peaches are gross, mom. Do I have to keep eating it?”
Every time Max sees something new, he furrows his brow as he contemplates its properties. (He’s very advanced, you know, ha!). We joke that he’s thinking, “I could eat that”, because he then tries to put whatever it is in his mouth. This is my empty water glass he hijacked.

Max is 8 months old! And Ben and I have been married for 7 years! Yesterday got away from me a bit, but just before it got too dark I remembered to slap a tie on this guy and snap some pictures. No time for pants!
Max at 8 months:
Smiles and laughs all the time,
Still puts everything in reach into his mouth,
Has a pretty coordinated grasp, but is still working on the pincers,
Sits very well, but has to be put in that position,
Can stand up in the crib for a short period if time if I stand him up and put his hands on the rail,
Still reluctantly inchworms if necessary,
Rolls pretty frequently,
Has stopped sleeping through the night this last week or so :/,
Is fat! Look at those rolls! He is starting to grow out of the 9 months size, and because of the cloth diapers, he’s almost out of the 12 month size in shorts!
Loves to eat. He is still primarily breastfeeding, and we had been feeding him small amounts of food here and there, but this week we’re going to start including solids at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We love this little guy and are so thankful our little 20 pounds of joy!
With even more thankfulness and joy, Ben and I celebrated 7 years of marriage. Truly, every year is better as we grow and change and overcome challenges together. We’re not the same people that fell in love and got married when we were 22 (we were babies, I tell you! 22!), but by God’s grace, we fit together so perfectly still. Perhaps even better.

Proof that he does sleep! But he still needs those arms firmly by his sides. Just needed to remind myself of how sweet he looks while sleeping after his most recent sleep strike.

Bath time!
