Little Moments of Light

Who needs toys when you have a box?
In loving memory of the sleep I used to enjoy and so dearly miss, please enjoy these throwback pictures of Max sleeping.

Itβs been a rough night/morning over here. We have spotted his first tooth (bottom right) and he had shots Wednesday, so thatβs part of it. We decided to reset this morning with prayers (thanks for the book, Aunt Steph!). Some have already been answered, some answers we are still awaiting in faith.

Poor little guy got his 6 month shots today. π¦ But look how big he is, sitting up all by himself!
For those that are interested, he is now 26.5" tall and weighs 17 lbs 14 oz. Growth is right on track. π
He is just about done with his 6 month clothes and moving into the 9 month size. Fortunately, Grandma brought some new threads this weekend, including this T Rex shirt which says “be mighty”. I think it helped with the shots. π

My parents came to town this weekend so my dad could run the Cherry Blossom 10 miler with Ben and me. We had a wonderful time, even if the blossoms didn’t bloom in time for the race. And here’s the only picture I have of Max with a grandparent on my phone, and it’s one my mom sent me! It’s time to confess: I don’t believe I’ve posted a single entry from my computer. They’ve all been from my phone, so you’ve only been getting phone pics. As soon as I sit down to edit the next batch of pictures from my “real” camera, you’re in for a treat! There will be so many pictures!
Until then, this one captures how much Max loved seeing his grandpa (and grandma!). I think the feeling is mutual. π
Thanks for the book, Aunt Jessica! Max LOVES it!!

Family selfie!

Yesterday I was holding Max while eating a pear and answering some emails for work (because I can never so just one thing at a time anymore!). When I went for another bite, I found Max all over it! I shared the rest; a bite for me, a slobber for him. I guess it’s time to start him on solids! His six month check up is Wednesday, so we’ll talk to his doctor about it then. I’m thinking pears are in, and maybe we’ll start with that and sweet potatoes. Yum!
He didn’t give me much sleep for my birthday, but he did give me some precious belly laughs. I’ll take it. π
If it seems like he is always wearing this bib or one just like it, it is because Max must be constantly in a state of near dehydration he drools so much. I promise you, he has the most adorable outfits on underneath!
Be sure to watch the very last frame. He makes a very funny face whenever he thinks he’s about to fall, and I just barely caught it here.

It just so happens that a large, organic carrot is the perfect teether. Go figure.
