First breakfast of the new year… looked exactly like the last breakfast of 2018.  Toast, cheerios, apples, and peanut butter.  Every morning.

Happy New Year!  We are excited for all the year has in store for us and trusting God with the parts of 2019 that will be difficult.  We already know big challenges lie ahead, but I’m sure there are plenty we don’t know about yet.  Our God is big enough for all that.  Our goal for our family in the new year is to practice compassion, hospitality, and kindness.

Ben took time off work for the week of Christmas until after the New Year.  It was a restful, low-key time for our family exactly what we needed to reset schedules after traveling.  Max wanted to show Daddy his build site at the beach, and requested that he bring some supplies, so they hammered away building a “house”.  Hazel chased hermit crabs and supervised.

The day after Christmas was pouring rain, so we gave Max and Hazel their first bowling experience.  Max was fascinated by the ball return machine and had a blast.  Hazel was also interested in the ball return, but mostly just observed.  Clearly none of us are talented bowlers, but Max definitely beat Mom!
