Late August. After the pizza date, Max’s friend and sister were very curious about his injury.
Late August. While spending a beautiful morning exploring tide pools, Max slipped on a mossy rock and split his chin. We rushed from the beach to the hospital (despite his vehement protests that I should just kiss it better and that he would continue playing at the beach and that he would NOT go to the hospital) since it looked like it may need stitches. Fortunately, they were able glue it instead.
I asked Max what we could do to make him feel better, and he suggested a pizza cafe with friend, and later added ice cream to the request. Our friends were happy to oblige and met us for lunch, and he even got his ice cream cone. Ben was on his way out of town, but a quick FaceTime with him helped Max boost his courage.
This brave guy never complained about his chin hurting once after the initial injury.
