Typical scenes on a weekday afternoon in mid-July.
Hazel’s biggest fan… Hazel.
Mid-July. We were going through a bit of a Connect 4 phase. He got pretty good after a while, but you can see his sneaky shenanigans in the third picture. He is red and I am black, so he’s hoping to block me from blocking him. His general strategy was to just put his red checker on top of wherever you chose to put your red checker. Oddly, it was a pretty effective strategy.

Those eyelashes and little curl just melt me.
Backyard/playground shenanigans. We can see the playground from the end of our backyard, which proves too much of a temptation for Hazel. The moment she’s in the backyard, she runs for the playground.
We visited the aquarium in Nago over the July 4th weekend. It was really big and the blue whale shark was incredible, but it was way too crowded to really enjoy it. Hazel liked pointing at the fishes, though.
Fun at the splash pad with the neighborhood crew.
End of June, playing at the pirate ship playground by the beach.
Max’s last day of gymnastics… in June. Still playing catch up! Max enjoyed gymnastics, but he was just over it by the summer. Hazel will start soon, though!
We had a party with pizza, cake, and a bounce house to celebrate Max! He had so much fun plugging in the pump to blow up the bounce house, maybe more than the party itself. We had a small group of friends come jump with us and enjoy apple spice cake and chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Hazel was just there for the food.
I forgot to take pictures during the actual party, so all but the first picture is from the next morning before they took the bounce house away. Nothing like an invigorating and sweaty bounce in the morning to get ready for church.
