Lots of cafes and beach runs this week. Also this convo in the car yesterday:
Max: Hey, Mom, do you know why…
Hazel: Eeeeeeeech!
Max: …do you know….
Hazel: aaaaaaaach!
Max: Hazel, stop interrupting! It is my turn to speak!
Hazel: [actually silent]
Max: do you know why the street lights are off? It’s day time and there’s plenty of sunlight!
Me: oh.
Max: Ok, Hazel, now what would you like to say?
Hazel: Aaaaaaaarrpppht!
Max: oh. That’s interesting.
🤷🏼♀️🙃
Breakfast with these guys.
Max: my ear feels weird. What is wrong?
Me: probably a worm. Is there a worm in there?
Max: (with a weary voice) I think it’s just my sinuses, Mom.
Hello, 13-year-old Max, already annoyed by Mom. 🙄
More Christmas Eve fun. Mema, we can’t wait to FaceTime you!!
We had a lovely Christmas Eve. It wasn’t the same without Grandpa, but it was so nice to remember him with those who loved him most. Max enjoyed time with his cousins (thanks, Sam!) and Hazel enjoyed the wrapping paper. Thank you for hosting, Nikki!
And those kisses Hazel gave Nana? I can’t even. 😍
Grandpa showed Max the light control panel after church on Sunday. He was super impressed.
Then Pops brought back glow sticks from his Christmas Eve service. Later, he got to go to a Christmas Eve service and light a candle and sing “Silent Night.” He still talks about it.
This kid has a serious love for lights and Christmas hymns, so this was a Sunday for the books.
Cousins and aunts. Pretty sure my sisters spoiled Max. He still talks about how cozy your room is, Megan!
Max started our trip with a nasty cough and the sniffles. Something to do with 4 airports in 30 hours, I’m pretty sure. We weren’t used to the cold, but we had to get out there anyway for some fresh air. Max had fun at the playground behind the elementary school where his Daddy and aunts went to school.
Hazel was so excited for her first trip to the U.S.! Or maybe about the bananas. Probably it was just the bananas. 😏
Jackson in that sleep sack. And those paci kisses, I mean. 😍
Still working my way through all the Texas photos. The first morning at Nana and Pops, Max made this thrilling discovery. A fraction of Daddy’s childhood legos!
