Just common view around here I don’t want to forget. House a (creative) mess, Max on tippy toes experimenting with the lighting in dinosaur pjs.
More from our day at Bios.
We spent a lovely morning at Bios on the Hill a few weeks ago. Some of us fed goats, others ate some grass. We climbed forts and hiked on the paths and played on swings and had a picnic in the shade.
Me: Max, please be calm.
Max: I am, I’m playing hurricane.

Seven month photo shoot with brother’s bear. Taken a few days late (because, second child) and posted a few weeks late (because, life).
Hazel, you are too much in all the best ways. You love to laugh and play games and be the center of attention. You have started eating and attack food like it’s going to get away. It was a rough three days, but you have two bottom teeth now. You are persistent and possibly the most stubborn member of the family, which is certainly saying something. You have a fierce temper but it never lasts long. You have started sleeping much better now that I’ve allowed you to sleep on your tummy. Your legs are so strong. I’ve been kicked hard enough in the stomach to be sore. Those rolls show no signs of disappearing soon. You’ve started balancing on your hands and knees, but I’m in no hurry for you to start crawling! When you’re on your back, you pump your legs to move backward, and you cover impressive distance at a quick clip this way. You can also roll and scoot pretty effectively. Max and you still have a special bond, and always prefer to be next to each other. Your daddy is slowly making you more snuggly, but I still think you’re a mama’s girl. We love you, Hazelnut. What a gift you are!
A rainy morning at our spot, enjoying some tasty bakery treats.
Hazel eats solids now, but only if she can feed herself. She does not like anything on a spoon headed for her face, but loves black beans, peas, bananas, and carrots in finger food form. She also loves rice, which makes a big, sticky, pasty mess when combined with excessive drool. In case you were wondering.
Dinner from the burrito truck a few weeks ago. Max is totally into all the lights he hangs in front of his truck.
Hazel doesn’t shy away from showing affection. It was love at first sight with Phoebe the Fawn.
Max’s question face. 90% of the time, his expression is one of these.
