We are doing a Jesse Tree advent calendar for Christmas this year. Each day, we go over a another piece of God’s salvation story, leading up to the birth of Christ. Max is enjoying it, and for some reason is especially interested in the story of Samuel anointing David as king. We read I Samuel 16 nearly every day…
Movie and pizza night. We’ve been going through the Toy Story movies little by little on Friday nights. It’s a fun family ritual, making the dough, baking the pizzas, and watching Max laugh at “Light Buzz Year.”
Playing in the rain. Next time, with rain boots…
Last gymnastics class for a while. He couldn’t quite do the sit jumps on the trampoline but I love his effort!
Jumping bean.

Actually a bit chilly here lately! Mid-sixties! All my cold tolerance is gone.

Apparently there was no room at the stable this year, either.
Oh my heart.

My backseat driver builds stoplights out of his legos. White means stop and pink means go. They don’t light up, so he’ll just let you know if the light is white and you need to stop what you’re doing immediately. 😏
Nakagusuku Castle ruins over the Thanksgiving holiday. You can see a tall orange-ish hotel way off in the background that is about a mile from our house. This side overlooks the China Sea, and to the east we could see the Pacific. We enjoyed the views. Max enjoyed climbing all the stairs. And trying to turn us into helicopter parents with all the sprinting on narrow ledges with no rails.
