Those penguins get up to a lot of mischief.

Happy Easter! We have spent the last twelve days going over and over the story of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection with Max, and it has been so rewarding (for all of us). We used “resurrection eggs” to tell the story, opening a new egg each night. Today we hid them in the backyard and he told us the story as he found each one. There’s nothing like telling the story to someone for the first time to make you really confront your own sin and need for forgiveness. What a heart-breaking, heart-mending holiday.
I introduced Max to clips of several Olympic events this week, to get us pumped for this summer. Weightlifting, swimming, track, soccer, diving… and women’s gymnastics. He thought it was all great until I showed him McKayla Maroney’s perfect vault for the team finals in 2012. We have watched it at least 3 dozen times now.
I can’t remember if I shared these from several weeks ago. Max had a great time with our super large Kleenex order.
A few selfies and a penguin on a roller. Just a taste of the every day around here.
The first signs of spring around here. (Max wanted to me to draw his penguin for him. Four times.)
Summer has always been my favorite season. Now that I’ve experienced more than a few snow days, though, those pink blooms of Spring have never looked so beautiful. I seem to be in the minority, but I LOVE setting the clock forward an hour. We get so much extra time in the sun after Max’s nap AND he sleeps until 7 or 8 in the morning. We’re not out of winter yet, but I see tangible signs that the end is near!
We went to the zoo for a bit today and I forgot to take pictures with the animals. Max was more interested in walking on the benches and checking out the manholes anyway.
Max gave me a flower for the first time! Either that, or he just wanted me to hold it for him…
Max loves puzzles.
Cloudy Sunday.
