We took some sand from the beach and use it to practice writing our letters. Not as much fun as a day at the beach, but not bad, either.

We get plenty of new books from the library every week, and he loves to take them upstairs to his room and “read” when we get home.
Preschooling means arts and crafts. Not my thing at all. But he enjoys painting, so I make an effort.
We take field trips in our preschool, too! We went to a museum to learn about Okinawan culture last month. He needs more practice, but he’s not bad with the chopsticks!
A large portion of our pre-schooling takes place in the kitchen. We do a lot of kneading and baking, but we cook other things, too. Max has his own set of knives and he’s actually pretty useful in chopping garlic!
We’ve been doing some informal pre-schooling around here based on a curriculum called The Peaceful Preschool, and both of us are loving it. He’s such a joy to teach. We’ve dyed eggs for “E” week and learned about mixing colors. We do a lot of counting with beans. And Scrabble tiles are good for letter bingo!
